Organic in the City - SLC Style
Posted on 26. Nov, 2009 by The Active Organic in Food, Restaurants
Just wanted to share an experience I recently had while spending a few days in Salt Lake City with a friend.
I visit the city frequently and usually find myself eating at Whole Foods on 4th because of their options. While exploring Main Street we actually ran across a new organic cafe called Vasuvio’s Organic Cafe. I was sooo excited to discover this place! I am always looking for other options where I can get a quick healthy/organic meal. So naturally we had to try it out.
Immediately upon walking up to the counter Tiffany–one of the owners–greeted us and handed us a menu. She was very polite and helpful with the questions we had. Talking to her for a bit we found out they have been open for a few months and things were going well thus far. About this time Pete–the other owner–walked in and was very pleasant and attentive to our questions and needs. We had questions about the coffee and whether it was organic or not, he graciously brought us some info about Illy and the story behind it.
Basically it was a pleasurable experience. They were genuine, helpful and looking to make it an exceptional experience for us! Which they succeeded at.
Both of us got a breakfast Panini–which was delish–and a cappuccino. All of it was freshly made, and very tasty. My favorite part actually was Pete bringing us a little dessert at the end. It was an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, which I gotta tell ya is one of my weaknesses.
All in all it was a great experience and a new found establishment I would love to spend my money at. Great people, good food and healthy to boot. If you are near SLC or visiting be sure to check out Vasuvio’s for some healthy fare!
If you have patronized Vasuvio’s, please do share. I would love to hear what others think!
