Morning Goodness!

Morning Goodness!

Here is a little recipe that I love and eat for breakfast 4 or 5 days a week. Just regular oatmeal but with a few important recommendations.

I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast for some time now. In the beginning I was cooking stovetop and adding a bunch of goodness to it and it was great.

So here is the single factor that made me love it! A friend of mine had told me to bake the oatmeal, curious about how it would turn out I tried it the next morning and voila it was freaking amazing. It was more fluffy and it always came out perfect, where on the stovetop I had some mishaps we’ll just say.

After that it really is up to you what to do with it. Here is my recipe for this morning goodness:

  • 1/2 Cup Oatmeal (not instant you want the real deal. I buy Red Mill, works like a charm)
  • 1 Cup of 1% Milk (you can use skim, 2% or even water but I would def recommend milk, for those who aren’t vegan)
  • 1 Tbsp of raw, organic sugar
  • Mix all this up in a oven safe dish. Preheat oven to 325˚F, once it is preheated throw your oatmeal in the middle for 20-23 mins. Grab a hot-pad and pull it out. I just use a towel and use the towel as my hot-pad when eating it.
  • Sprinkle some cinnamon on it (I use quite a bit, cuz I love it)
  • Throw a serving of blueberries on it. (I have been using Goji Berries lately, love the taste and these berries are a healthy kick in the stomach).

There you have it a healthy, tasty, kick a$$ start to your day.

Just a side-note, I started eating oatmeal for breakfast because I had slightly high cholesterol (runs in the fam). I got it tested at 203, (average is 150-200) and started shortly after that. I just got it tested again about 6 months later and it was 177. Now this is pertinent to me, everybody has their own circumstances, but I know that it played a significant role, this along with eating a more healthy and balanced diet.

Just did this, was delicious! I like my porridge (oatmeal in the UK) a little runnier so 15 minutes seems best.

    Thanks!

When I designed it I saw your site in the Woo Themes showcase and it was one of my inspirations.
